Sportsman's W/H is going under and closing there doors. The OKC store was one of the top 5 stores in the 60 some odd numbered stores in the chain. The liquidation sale will start possibly as soon as this weekend and be done within 60 days or sooner. They were #2 in the chain as far as growth. The sale of the chain fell thru yesterday morning.

It is hoped by the company owner and store management that the store will reopen soon after reorganization. This is to say sell off all the non producing or slow growth stores and concentrate on the top 5 and,hopefully, rebuild. The staff are tops in my books but their hands were tied because the owner expanded too quick and did not have enough working capital to maintain inventories and the house of cards is folding I am friends with most of the department managers and they tried hard but their hands were tied. It is sad

Man, that really really suks... I buy most of my fishing lures and tying materials from them.

Sad, that they are closing their doors in Oklahoma. I hope they can pull it together and re-organize.

I like going there because I alway find stuff that bps or academy dont have. Will have to check out the sale while hoping it works out that they get things together and remain another place for me to spend money!

Alot of good people will be out of work in this economy. I hope that they will be quickly snatched up by other companies OR the store reopens soon. i have made alot of friends at the store.

I always like that place because you could get in and out without fighting a crowd and get the stuff I needed at the same price or less than BPS. Looks like I may be making a trip to OKC this weekend to see what I can get while it's still open.

zinsurance- They have a raffle going for an ar15. The raffle will be going on Saturday probably around noon if you are interested.

we have my wifes family coming in this weekend to celebrate birthdays (otherwise I would be at the get-together), if I go it's gonna be monday to make up for a missed striper trip to Texoma...that is if the weather isn't nice enough to be fishing!

the place is packed today with not much buying going on. Everyone is waiting for something more than 10% off.

man that really sucks that was like my other walmart (besides bass pro) they had a bigger slection of molds and a bigger slection of hooks that was the only reason why i ent to the north side of the city with my wife she would go and walk around the mall and i would go and walk around sportmans
