Default Miami area Neosho river help needed

My wifes grandma lives in Miami, and we are going to be going down there to visit soon. I would like to get the kids out of the house, and chase some whites/crappie while down there, (bank fishing) I have seen the dam in the park, once, and they were snagging there at the time. Looked like a good place for them to pile up. I have also heard of something at Chetopa. Any suggestions for there, or other ideas places on the river where we could go? Any other low water bridges or dams? Thanks a lot from a Missourian!

Miami's Riverview Park does get VERY crowded when the spoonbills are there (can be very entertaining!). You might also go upriver to Stepp's Ford Bridge (west of North Miami/Commerce). You can bank fish from there. Or, head out east of Miami 6-7 miles on highway 10 (Steve Owens blvd) to Spring River. You can bank fish along/under the bridge area. I believe there is a small camping area/boat ramp there.
