Just a guess or a thought. The year that the rains came to end the drought everybody and their brother was catching 11" to 13" fish with lake levels low. Fish were spawning at levels that were normal for the time, big water came in and could have had hindered the hatch. Since then there hadn't been a decent spring to have a good spawn - as far as catching fish. And here we are. Have a good feeling that this year will be different...may not be the number of quality fish you expect , but there should be some good fishing with what weather there has been so far. it's to early to call it a loss!

Thanks for all the advice and where there is to fish. It is greatly appreciated as for your theory I have yet to catch a big one but in dew time! everything think i've caught has been a dink like 8 inches max... i go basically everyday to the marina area and see very few being caught still... but i've been tearing up the baby large mouths ... had a 2.5 lbs the other day but i threw it back

It's still a little early to be catching them right on the bank. I would either bring my waders and wade out as far as possible and then cast out further, or I'd go to the pier at Fisherman's Point. They'll be on the banks in 2-4 weeks.

I went to the pier at fisherman's point on Monday night and saw 2 small bass caught and 1 crappie from about 6 - 730. Didn't fish myself, was just watching but looked kinda slow to me.

I gave it another go Sat morning. Only caught 1 keeper and it was tiny. My buddy caught 3 keepers; 2 were little, but one was 1lb 13oz! You know what they say about East winds...
