    Default Ready to spawn?

Do we have any real fish bioligists on this forum? I posted on the main forum a couple of weeks ago about how can I tell if a fish is getting ready to spawn. There were a couple of responeses but nothing concrete. A lot of shadetree bioligist speculate but I can't tell unless I catch one and the eggs are running out of the old girl ( which is the best response I had on the main forum and I totally agree). I have helped my friends and family clean fish for years and we all make speculations but I have never seen it explained in a biology book. I am sure I have caught fish at all different levels of spawning activity, say the month of April, and they pretty much all look the same to me. I am almost 53 and have been cleaning fish since I was 6.

Still looking for something definitive. I think the head fisheries guy in Oklahoma in Gene Gilliand? Does anybody have his e-mail address.
    Hey, tell me a story!

    HI George,
I used it that next sat but got blown off of the lake, (that means I couldn't find any fish). Haven't caught a fish on it yet but I really like the way it rides in the rod holder.
