    Default @Hefner....

Me and my dad got a total of 3 nice crappie. My dad landed 2 crappie and I got 1 crappie. Today was really slow, crappie was pickie on lures, they kept change the color type. I had change my bait around 8 to 10x to see if they would like one color or the other. But tough today, but we still manage to get 3 crappie.

I did not see anyone catch anything, lol besides us.
The wind was out of the north then change to south for a bit then it went down to no wind.

Anyways did not see kcir out there.. where is kcir? maybe the wind got him spook or maybe it is too nice to be fishing. Today is too nice, and I had a gut feeling before we got to the lake that it will be hard day to catch fish. My dad was talking about it too before we got to the lake.

Well, see you guys out there, cork slippers or watever. I will stick with my cast and retrieve.

I live right by the lake and this is my first post in this forum. Me and my 13 yr. old son are trying to catch some crappie this year. We fished Fri. and Sat. a little bit, but did not catch a thing. Have tried numerous spots all around the lake. The wind we have had over the last few days has been rough. I think we have been in some decent areas, but the fish are not cooperating yet. We will stay after it and I expect our luck will change in the next few weeks.

    Welcome to the forum Goldflinger...

I do not own a boat. So, I fish from shoreline and cast out and retrieve it back.

Places to fish on Hefner are around the dam area, you may have to move around it and try a place a time. Or you can just drive till you see a bunch of cars park and park behind them. If you want to know a bit more about Hefner, search for my older post.

Fished a little last night in the East Warf by red rock grill. Did not catch a thing, but the wind was aweful. We drove across the Dam last Friday, but did not see any cars in the morning. Again, the South wind was bad, so we did not stay there long. Have managed a few bites at the heated dock by the par 3 course, but have not found them active yet. A boat with a thermometor said the water temp in the cove we were fishing yesterday was 54 degrees. It should be getting close. Thanks for the welcome and I am anxiously awaiting a calmer day with temps in the high 70's. I did hear about an angler who caught 26 nice ones last Tuesday (the nicest day of the year so far) at the East Warf. Will keep trying!!
