I was raised just a couple miles from there, back in the day (70"s) I spent most of my youth around that lake and in Mohawk Park; I would see some really nice catfish not sure what kind but in the range from 5 to 20 pounds brought out of their frequently. Don't have a clue how fishing is now, there was at least 1 major fish kill back around 1976 from oxygen depletion when the lake turned over, I remember tons of fish floating out there. I personally would not fish Yahola or the pounds in Mohawk Park alone, and they do close off the roads now at dusk.
