OK. I have another question. We went out last weekend and did kind of what you recommended. We were on Fort Cobb. We found a ledge on the main lake with baitfish and feeding predator fish, dropped the lights, and put out our lantern. We instantly had bait circling the boat. We caught a crappie in the first 5 minutes and we were like, "OK here we go..." BUT THAT WAS THE LAST CRAPPIE WE CAUGHT! We had clouds of shad under our boat, which was better than on previous trips. But all we caught were tons of sand bass, hybrids and catfish. At least we were catching something but it wasn't what we were looking for. We tried different depths. Deeper depths caught sandies and hybrids and shallower depths caught catfish and even a couple gar. Do you have any tips for catching crappie instead of other fish? Is it just one of those things, or is there something to look for that may help find more crappie?
