Jason Denney was nice enough to take me out on his boat yesterday. We got some crappie, mostly on plastic, before going after some blues. We didn't kill 'em, but got seven, up to 16 pounds. This one was 15. It was definitely a Gatorade (which I forgot to bring) day. Might have to go to Montana early this year if the temps keep rising.

Although we did better that I usually do at Kaw (I’ve racked up more skunks than I’d like to admit!), I’m still kicking myself we didn’t get on the water earlier...woulda loved more of those crappie! Nonetheless, I definitely enjoyed the day, Eric.

Still catching crappie 2 to 12 ft deep but have a lot of folks that want to catch bluecat so hanging up the crappie poles for a while and going after bluecat. Guess I will be moving down to the catfish forum for a while.

Fished the banks again. Caught a lot of fish near dark, but they were mostly small females with eggs. We kept 20 that were between 10"and 12", but didn't get any of the 14"-15 1/2" inch fish that were there last week. Had a very entertaining lightning and lightning bug show at dark.

We are lowering the catfish population by a few. Crappie still biting. Lake is rising. Lot of debris coming down the river yesterday.

Took a couple of game wardens out yesterday and Mike's son Austin. We had a heck of a day. Austin was a heck of a fisherman for 7 yrs old. Looking forward to fishing with them again.

Nice catch of cats, were you using cut shad or ?
