Default First time to use a Huckabee rod. Wow!!!

Spent most of three days with MontanaBoy at Mark Twain in Missouri. He was brave enough to let me use his Meatdragga (for a short time only). The sensitivity is unreal. I had been using a couple of IM6 rods and keeping my fingers on the line. Unless I was bringing the line up slowly, I wouldn't have known that the fish had picked it up. When I switched to the Meatdragga, I could "feel the thump" on every bite.
I mentioned to fishing partner that Father's Day is rapidly approaching. The problem is that she says I have to sell twenty of my old rods before I think of getting a Huckabee. Anybody want to buy twenty old rods???

I have one of each and prefer the Meatdragga. Love the old 11' Pulling Rod ( pro series now) for its backbone when I'm dipping stumps but it wears me out- it's a young mans rod. Dipping Rod is sometimes a little limber when I'm using 2 heavier jigs. But as Goldilocks opined- the Dragga is just right- for me in about all situations. Seems very versatile. However I must be in the minority because I see those red rods in every other picture on C.C! Best dang marketing idea ever painting those rods red! I agree with SkyKing tho- very sensitive rods.

Pro series and the meat dragga are incredible. Especially incredible in 9 foot of water or less, easily yank any crappie that bites the line into the boat without reeling! Have swung too many 2.5 pound crappie in the boat without ever losing a fish! Beaver bottom baits with a #2 hook work best for not losing them

Jon (MontanaBoy) would agree with you about the "just right". He has used it for jerking them out of the heavy brush at Rend, double-rigging jigs in deep water and medium depths, as well as pulling cranks. It also handles the occasional 3#-7# cat that hits the jigs.

Really great reviews here on Huckabee rods. I love it!!! Crappie Ciller...just wanted to make sure you know the 11' Pulling rod is still in our line-up. The 10'7" Pro Series is an addition. It has not replaced it.

Is there anywhere you can check these rods out to see which one you like the feel of?
