I quit using hollow tubes years ago, for the simple reasons that they tore up easily and were easily yanked down on the hook shank (even with a barbed collar). I went to Super Glue before giving up on them altogether, but that only allowed the Bluegills to bite off the skirt tails rather than simply pulling the skirt down![]()
I then went to CrappiePro solid body tubes and my problems went away. I've since moved on from the solid body tubes to other solid body types ... like Shadpoles, Slabalicious, Panfish Assassins, and some custom poured Slab-a-nator shad stingers & some minnow body shapes (from Snake River).
Throughout the whole timeframe, I've used Grousefly's 1/16oz unpainted ballhead weedless jigheads w/#2 Aberdeen hooks (barbed collar) ... and rarely have a solid body plastic bait come down on the hook shank, even after catching several fish on it. No glue needed. Grousefly is a member and can be reached by PM for details on his custom jigheads.
I'm especially excited about using the Slab-a-nator shad stingers, as they are quite soft, yet very tough on the hook. And my friend Rodney (Slabeye) makes curly tails & "hot rods" (carrot style) bodies as well : https://sites.google.com/site/slaban...menu/Jig-Bodys ... and he has quite a selection of colors, plus he can custom make one & two color bodies other than the ones he shows on his website. PM him for details.
