Me and the wife fished about an hour and a half last night and kept 12 keepers we caught in 5-8 foot casting jigs. One small fish we released had a clothing tag buried 1/2 inch into it. I pulled it out and released the fish. Has anyone seen this before? Trying to add pics. Not sure if I will be successful or not.

If it was for a derby, shouldn't it have something identifying it as such? It was just a plain plastic tag.

Nice fish, davidc. If you want to see if you missed out on a c-note, you could probably call a bait and tackle near the lake. Usually those tagged fish prizes are only good during the tournament or derby, but we had some back home where the tag was good any time. When I was a young lad (about a hundred years ago), those tagged fish paid for my tackle, which consisted of line and bait hooks (the worms came from the garden). Later, as I started fly fishing, tackle costs escalated. Now the costs are.......
