Default Talala Creek on the Rocks please!

Here's some pics of an Okie style ice fishing venture from a couple of weeks back.

It took me 45 minutes just to clear enough ice to launch the boat and get it turned arund!

Ice was 2.5" thick and the USS-POS did a great job easing through it. I had to get up on it at times and it would only bend down a bit, back off and retry to clear my path. After getting to the area I wanted to fish, made a circle then pushed the ice out of my way with the back of the boat. I had an area clear to fish about 20 yds wide and 100' long. Didn't catch that many but at least I got to try. Ice was just too thick to try a whole bunch of spots. The path refroze that night and the chunks remained for days until it finally thawed.

I love crappie -- but that's a little too cold and too much work.

The only reason I did it was because you didn't invite me down to fish your dock.

Reaper, you are more than welcome to come fish with me at the dock anytime -- well, anytime I'm at the dock fishing. We go to the lake just about every weekend, but sometimes I have too many projects to do that I don't always get to do any fishing. Someday when I finally get to retire, we'll be moving down to our place and I'll have lots more time to fish. Jim (Stinkfinger) drops by to fish with me occasionally since he is one of the fortunate ones and lives down their in the development.

VH, we love it in Arrowhead Estates. I now own the place that my folks bought back when I was 7 years old - so I've pretty much grown up down there (I'll be 50 next year). I remember my folks getting up at 4:30 on Saturdays and dragging me to Arrowhead Marina so they could fish all day (before we put our own dock in). Lots of really nice places are for sale in the development these days.

Jim's one of my favorite people, but don't tell him I said that. Don't want him to get the big head, ya know?
