It would depend on who is using the rod in my opinion. It would also depend on what line and size of jig as well.
Perhaps there should be some kind of "Rod Off" with exact line and jigs and an independent Judge. Question is, how many of us can feel the tick of a small piece of brush and set the hook just incase it's a hit? How many of us have felt the resistence of excess line from someone's break off, and set the hook? It could be like "You Got Served" movie. A true "Rod Off" should have the two fishermen (or women) trading rods at halftime just to see if it's the fisher that is making the difference.
You open a lot of questions of What If which when pondered creates some pretty cool scenarios.
I can see the TV show and the Tournament possiblities Brian, but would a Rod maker be brave enough to do head to head competition as the loser could lose a lot of business.The number fo missed a rod had would be soley dependent on who is using it.
