Think I'm good to go except my feet. Boots became cold after 3 hours.

Man I have never had anything Redhead that was worth a dang. Most uncomfortable pair of boots I have ever worn. I just gave up trying to break them in and donated them to Goodwill.

I would agree with crapA, since I tried several of their boots and they were terrible. They fell apart quickly and fit OK once you exerted all your strength to get them on, but getting them off was nearly impossible (super tight in the arch). The good thing is that they upgraded me from a $39 pair to a $70 pair to the 16 inch, 800 gram thinsulate, side-zipper boot that is on sale at $99 (with no additional charge). I have worn them on the riprap, wading the bank, and on the dock at CB for two years. They are very comfortable and look brand new (just the opposite of what most of the reviews on BPS show). Maybe I was just lucky in getting a good pair, but I've only owned one pair of boots that I have liked as much (got them in 1963 for about $5).

Dewalt rechargeable coat. $249.00 from Locke Supply (less about 50 bucks with trade in for charity). I bought it oversize so I could layer up under it. It runs off a lithium I ode rechargeable batte that fits in a dedicated pocket on your left hip. It has three power settings and on low is supposed to last 8-9 hours on a full charge. It's a little bulky feeling with the battery but not unbearable by any means. The coats works as advertised but with one issue. I periodically checked to see if it was on and every time I checked, it wasn't. I came to the conclusion that as I climbed in to make a boat run, somehow I was able to disrupt battery power. I'm going to get a piece of Velcro and strap the battery to the receptor and see if that keeps in contacted. Taking thi into consideration, even without the battery supplying power, the coat is VERY warm. It is not waterproof so that will have to be addressed. It comes with a snap on hood, battery, receptor and charger.

Not sure if I'm ready to recommend it yet. If anyone is interested, it will be at winter camp. Rental is available on a very limited basis! 😄

The boots I bought were Columbia. Comfortable as all heck. I was in a bind and looked and tried about 15 pair of boots on at various stores over the last 3 weeks. It was these or running shoes that I know my feet would have been frozen in about 20 minutes. The boots bought aren't insulated but I think with another pair of wool socks and feet warmers I'll be good to go. Need to focus on getting my elite 7 mounted so any money I have is going toward the transducer and ram mount.

Ok thanks. Saw a website were they converted the 1.5" to fit the elite 7. I might not even need the mount. I really only need the finder to angle up/down.

If you buy the Ram mount Nip get the 2.25" ball, it doesn't move even with minimal hand pressure when tightening.
