Kind of a late post. My Better half decided the best way to spend our anniversary was to go camping so I loaded the gear and Friday headed to Eufaula State Park for a weekend of doing nothing but to enjoy Gods beautiful gift to us. Jigged around the the fish hotel for a couple of hours with not much happening then spent the evening pampering my bride.

Up at daybreak, breakfast cooked, dishes done and on the dock at 7:30. Unbeknownst to me there is a fishing club for disabled vets and they were having a fishing tourney sat and sun. At the marina and it was packed with people. Trying to maneuver around and fish proved futile, and the bite was off so I stowed my gear in the truck and just hung out, watching these fine folks do their thing, talking joking and occasionally catch a catfish once in a while.

I can tell you, there is not a better area on any lake on this state right now that is better chummed for catfish than Molly Browns! I bet 100 pounds or better of liver, wheat balls, stink, punch and dead fish surround that dock right now! LOL

But I regress. I hung out til a out noon then spent the rest of the day the day at camp. That evening I loaded up and headed to Walmart in Okmulgee where I quickly and efficiently purchased almost $150.00 of terminal tackle and every container of chicken liver in the store. Up at 3:30 Sunday and I was down at the dock jiggin for crappie. Still an off bite but was enjoying the peace and quiet of having the dock to myself. At 6 Bill opened the restaurant and we enjoyed a hot cup of joe and visited. At 6:30 here they come ready for day 2 of their tourney. Imagine their surprise when they saw all that tackle sitting there waiting to be yanked on by a sly ole Kitty ! Never in my life, except for kids, have I seen faces glow like I did that morning!

I stayed til noon, helping, talking laughing with these fine people that we owe so much to. A small price I paid with money when you realize what they paid for our Country. A truly blessed weekend.
