The only problem with the Timmytom jig heads is that now I have a bunch of other heads I'll never use.![]()
Timmy Tom, do you make your weed guard jigs for crappie in a collarless model?
Hello guys. Thanks for the support, especially using my jigs over others. Frank, I currently do not have them. But with some of my jigs, I have modified the molds to accept different attachments and hook sizes. If there was a decent size market for them, well it can be done. Let me know what you are thinking?
TT
There many great jigs on the market. The vast majority have a collar on the hook shaft with a barb to retain the plastic bait in place. Some of us prefer a collarless jig with a drop of super glue behind the jig head to hold the bait at times. Doing this stretches the customers dollar allowing bait reuse even when not using super glue. In my experience, collared barbed jigs tear up plastic baits fast, especially any plastic baits made of soft plastic. One use of a new plastic jig on a collared jig head makes it tough to use that jig a second time after switching baits due to the large hole/tear left in the plastic. I would think there would be demand for a collarless weed guarded jig head. No one that I have discovered makes a collarless weed guard jig yet. You would have a much better handle on market demand on jig heads than I would. Just an idea.
