Fish Eyesight: Does Color Matter? | MidCurrent
I have been reading about color. Everyone has their opinion. Does it matter, or is it all about us? Input?

Well Ledge I have very little experience compared to a lot of guys on this forum, but with that said I will input my $0.02. I think at times the color makes a difference. It my not be the color per say but the contrast or resulting silhouette in the water that cause me to get bite more on a color that day or time of day. Other days I can put any color in the box on as long as it is of similar size and action and they will hammer it all day. Good Read ....
I do know that pulling cranks 12 - 15' deep I have caught a lot of fish on Black or Hot Pink (pink probably is a lot like red and looks more like black at that depth). I had read about the Colors and depth before ... and that red was first out and blue last.

Ledge this is an interesting topic, hope Ranger and EB will input their thoughts.
One experience I had when fishing a small lake close to home. I was pushing 4 jig poles out front with a 1/4 jig on all lines at .2-.3mph. Starting out I had 4 different jig head colors and bodies colors. I was fishing in 16' water with all jigs at 15'. I started catching good keeper fish (11" - 13") on 1 pole that had a chartreuse head with BG 3" black/chart. I change 2 of the other poles to the BG 3" black/chart. I still was only getting bit on the #2 pole, so I decided to move it to #3 position (other side boat). I started catching fish at the #3 position. I had black, orange, blue, jig heads on the other poles, I moved the chartreuse jig head pole to all four positions and caught 99% of the 25 fish I caught on that one pole. Why? I should have changed one of the other poles to a chartreuse head to see what would happen.
