Don't think you want to turn it 90 degrees.

You certainly need to check out all the videos on You Tube about electronics. It will tell and show you more than we call tell you. They will explain how they work and the best way to install. Check out Dr Sonars videos too......Ranger

With the current Lowrance technology you can not see 150 feet in front of the boat, only under and to the side. Lowrance just released a new trolling motor transducer called SonarHub( I think that is the name) it will do structure scan and down scan in a 30 degree radius off of the transducer. So as you turn the trolling motor hard left or right you can see out to a point. Most of us parallel a section of water to pin point the fish. then through out marker buoys and fish between them. You have to determine what works best for you.

DS is narrower and more detailed than 2d sonar. In other words a 2d sonar transducer has A 20 degree cone. I believe DS is like 12 to 14 degree cone. So in 10' of water 2d is 2' wide. DS is about 16" ......Ranger

What ever you buy today will be obsolete next year. All you need to do is be very good with what you have. If it's 2D then learn it the best you can.

That's were I messed up I have an older Lowrance Gps/Sonar at back and just a Di at front I am just wanting to buy for back and move my other up front for now. Because with just the Di I can't really see anything unless it's right their maybe I don't know what I am doing and since I got the boat I have only been able to catch cat fish below the dam because I didn't need the electronics.
