    Default Crappie in Mounds?

Anyone know if either lake Jackson or Boren have crappie in 'em? I got my permit for both lakes today and was wondering if anyone has ever fished either of them.

I used to do both out of my Kayak. Boren has huge bass in it, never caught a crappie out of it tho. Jackson was pretty over populated and the crappie were severely stunted as of 4 years ago.

Bummer a guy I worked with a few years ago used to talk about the slabs he would catch at "new mounds lake" I assumed he meant Jackson. So is it as bad as Sahoma with the stunted crappie. I'm looking for somewhere to take the boat when I don't want to drive very far till sahoma fills back up enough to use the ramp. I've been out to Jackson to look around and I'm pretty sure I can launch my little boat without getting the Jeep stuck.

I dont think you can have a gas motor on the boat, if I am remembering correctly. I have never fished Sahoma, so I could not compare it.

Fishers do you happen to know how deep either lake is? I drove out to Boren and it looks much easier to get the boat in the water so I think I'm going to try there first but it looks shallow.

Jackson is 35 or so. Boren is shallower but has great habitat. It has the big 4 foot wide lily pads in water up to 12 feet deep.
