Yowsa! Did you find open water after all that? We didn't even try it in Ledge's boat and I wouldn't have in mine either.
I just want to figure out how to see my jigs on the front HDS5 like Ledge had going on, that was awesome to know if you are above or in the brush! I've got the HDS12 touch and another 5 at the dash. One transducer on the back and one on the trolling motor. Its the trolling motor sonar transducer I need to figure out.

I can't see any ghosting in the picture. I see the contrast needs some tweaking. I think the shadow is what you are considering
ghosting". If anything is casting a shadow, that's an indicator of how far it is hanging above the bottom. One end of the tree the shadow will be close, then as the limb gets higher, the shadow will be futher away. Make sure you have a look at the Down scan while over the same pile.

Swollen, get your LSS2 off the jack plate and onto the transom in a proper spot. You're getting a cavitation issue with it mounted there. You should be able to clearly read the side/down scan at much less the 6mph. It all depends on the speed settings on the unit. I was getting a clear picture creeping past items at around 1mph.

Everyone should remember when passing over something so nice, the time you have seen the full image on your unit, most of it is behind your boat a ways. I toss a marker out, then will cross pattern it once or twice using the bouy as a marker as to where I really need to fish.

Craig...my LSS is on the bottom of the boat, not on my jack plate. I just thought what I was seeing was normal because it seems as if it would make sence if you pass directly over structure, you would probably pick it up on the right and the left of your side imaging screen with one side being more clear then the other. But now I am hearing this isnt normal, so how do you make a uint not show structure on both sides if your passing over the top.

Well I guess I might as well add my two C's. This is how it was explain to me. I have a HB 998 SI. Remember you are only looking at a small slice of the water column as you go over structure or fish. Please see attached, I hope they are readable. Look at #1 first then #2Name: HB SI_1.jpg
