I just so happened to kill one of those critters yesterday. Luckily I found this one before the dogs did. I am about 3 miles west of Thunderbird

Not a Pigmy, but we have killed three in the last 5 weeks at my place. Shortest has been roughly 3.5 feet long. Having a 5 year old daughter, I dont know what I would do if she ever got bit. Fortunately there are 3 less rattlers around our place now. Prayers to the little girl and her family. We hope she has a fast recovery!
That looks like it could be a very dangerous Timber Rattler.

Didn't mean to sound like an a$$. Copperheads look more like leaves than that one. Looks like they would make a good looking pair of boots.:twocents

Note the "copper head" on it. Where it gets it's name.
I've got a good report for the little girl, found out today she was released from the hospital after two days and is recovering nicely at home. Her fingers remain mostly black, but are healing. Small ulceration at the fang marks, but she' going to be fine. I thank God for all of you guys praying and He lending his healing hand. These things don't always turn out this well.
Thanks for the update Jim. Prayers are powerful meds and Thank You Jesus for laying your hands on this little girl.....Ranger
