Stink,
did it have rattles? That would tell you it wasn't a copperhead.

We have a lot of Pygmy Rattlers out around Lake Thunderbird.I have heard they were brought in with the riprap rock they used for the dam when building the lake.My son lives on north end of lake, him and his neighbor and killed a few around the house and not found rattles on some of them.
Prayers for the little girl and her family! I hope they can doctor her snake bite and her family has good insurance, I saw a special on treating snake bites on the news and it is very expensive, like $20,000 a anti venom treatment.

A good snakes a dead snake right!
The only indication it was a rattler were little tiny black bb type things on the tip of the tail. Reading about pygmies I learn that the rattle is so soft, it can barely be heard. I'll try to get some information on this little girl when I work again, next Monday and let you folks know how she's doing. Thanks for all the prayers, I appreciate your concern.
There has been 8 killed around my place in the last couple years ... Dogs have been bitten a couple of times already.. I live on the South end of Broken Arrow by Indian Springs Golf Course...
