    Default fishing

watching some bass fishing on tv but thats not as fun as actually fishing...yesterday was a nice slightly windy overcast day at my house and it of course gave me the "itch to fish"...I keep drawing on my memory from the day starfish and eufaula boy took me crappie fishing....it was great to be on the water again and to be on a guided crappie fishing trip was a dream come true....riding in the boat across the open waters reminded me of being a kid--we just had an old aluminum boat with 50 horse power evinrude but it did the job in pulling us kids on zip sled, a home made round table top board (it was a little dangerous but fun as all get out) the boat could pull two of us at a time well enough but if only one person was behind the boat ya felt like you were flying across the water and if you fell it kinda hurt (most of us learned to ski on one of our ponds) my dad loved for us to have fun so he got a kick out of doing the driving while the 7 of us kids took turns behind the boat----sometimes he would drive so far on the lake you thought your arms would fall off...we would motion we were ready to stop but he just kept going (I think he just wanted to show us we could stand more than we thought--so for him to continue to drive the boat was sort of a life lesson for us...daddy was a good man and I miss him)...I keep hoping to somehow get to a pond or somewhere to do some bass fishing, but each day gets hotter and that cuts my odds for catching a good bass unless I am on a lake and get real lucky...I keep seeing pics of hybrids and stripers that people are still catching--they look huge....well, happy fishing and dont get too hot out there

Perhaps someone on this site has, or has access to a killer strip pit or farm pond. I love the top water baits this time of year.

    Default top water

top water plugs are my favorite thing to fish with...when I was pretty young kid I was at a pond under a tree that was hung over a pretty deep hole in the pond and the water was fairly clear...as my lucky 13 got close enought to the bank to pull it out and cast again I watched about a 5lb bass come up and explode out of the water as it sucked that lure in its mouth....from then on I was hooked on top water lures and bass fishing

I know of two he has got that were over 10 pounds and several 7 and 8s have been caught. Also some good 2 pound crappie in there. Not very common to catch those but they are there
