    Default Shell Lake

Anyone know if the water has come up enough at Shell to use the ramp?

Dino, wish I could help you out, but I haven't been out there in a while. If I do go out there, I will, for sure let you know the conditions. My guess would be that it has NOT come up enough to launch. Maybe someone will let us know.

I'm just looking for somewhere to go paddle around this weekend and from the ramp all the way to the creek is fairly well protected from wind

Not sure which way they are forecasting the wind to blow from, but the ramp at Walnut Creek State park is useable since the water level has come up. Of course it is a longer drive than Shell Creek lake.

Is there any good fishing in the walnut creek area without going out on the main lake? I've fished it maybe 4 times and caught 2 crappie but didn't spend a lot of time exploring.

    Dino,

The ramp is still in bad shape. I launched my boat out there recently and nearly damaged my trailer. It's going to take a good while for that lake to fill back up. I even considered launching in the gravel area to the left of the ramp.

That's a shame it's such a beautiful little lake. Has the water even made it back to the ramp? Last time I was out there it was a walk from the ramp to the water.
