Default Best fish finder for $100

I'm going to be buying a fish finder this weekend. I have $100 to spend so any opinions what the best one would be in that price range? I know buying used is probably the best option but I'm ready to get back on the water and haven't seen any good deals on craigslist.

I have to agree with you about craigs list-I haven't seen any deals on there. I had an Eagle before and it was okay and sold new for $70 several years ago. Probably any of the monochrome Lowrance would do you ok. The lowrance x-4 is new at bass pro for $80, looks remarkedly like my eagle. Hope this helps. Merle

My first finder was an eagle cuda that had depth issues. Anything over 25' it quite working. Right now I'm looking at the Lowrance x-4 pro and humminbird piranhamax 175

Thanks for the info guys. I will be keeping bassboatcentral in my bookmarks for a later date. As for now one of the nice fellows on the Virginia board has made me a heck of deal on a little piranhamax color unit to get me back on the water.

Scott, I'm sure whatever you get will work great for you. Heck, you probably don't even a ff the way you catch em. Glad you're back in business!

I tested that theory yesterday with no luck. Went out to Sahoma and fought the wind for a couple hours. Don't think I'll try that again until I have the depth finder installed. Seemed like every time I thought I was in 10 FOW I was in 2 and vice versa. Also I think over the last year someone has moved a couple of trees that I used as visual markers out on the main lake. On a good note the water is up enough that you can use the ramp with some care.
