    Default Grand lake

Hey folks hello from missouri. Was wanting to see if I could get some insight on grand. Me and my buddies usually take an annual trip to fork every year but we decided on grand this year. I know this weather is not predictable but if you we're gonna plan a trip when would it be? Also where would you stay that's close to good fishin? Would a guide benefit us? Thanks for any advise.

Coffee Shop talk is that Grand set a new record on Black Bass this past weekend with a 12 pounder up in the Lake and a Lake Record cappie caught below the Dam. I would say fishing is pretty good.

The big bass was caught in Duck Creek on an Alabama Rig- 12.28 pounds. The female looked like she swallowed a cantalope!!!

The Lake Record Crappie that I refered to, in an earlier post was caught in the River below the Dam so that would make it a Hudson Lake Record and not a Grand Lake Record. It did weigh in at 2.9 pounds and was caught Feb 24th of 2013. The current record Crappie for Grand is 2.9 pounds. Also, a huge Hybrid Striper was caught up in Grand Lake this past weekend that weighed around 20 pounds. Grand is Hot!!!

I'm sick to hear that the Grand Lake record is 2.9 pounds. I took an intern student crappie fishing with me last spring near bernice and he caught a crappie weighing 3.2 pounds. I had a funny feeling that it would be close to a record fish. Wow! I wish I had known.
