Fish are biting but slower than normal. Excited to get back out with that new Huckabee Dingo 7 footer. Will be filming another TV show with Jimmy Houston this Wednesday. Should be a nice day and lots of fun. Maybe I'll see se of you out on the water?

I was out on Dripping Springs Lake on Saturday and I found a lot of structure in roughly 20' of water and the structure was covered with fish. So I anchored over it and fished with jigs, everything from 1/16 to 1/4 ounces and in different colors, tight lining like I've done before. I got a lot of hits but most of them just pulled the jig skirt down the shank of the hook. Didn't catch a thing.

So what's doing that? Any suggestions?

What size bait did you use? Might need to tip with crappie nibble, down size or both.

    DrNip,

I've never fished with crappie nibbles or anything like that so I'll give it a try. I am also thinking that since DS is managed as a trophy bass lake that it is probably full of big bull bream and I may have stumbled upon a school of those rather than crappie.

I never use nibbles either but know many that do and read about many using them and they working.

Pulling your skirt down is classic BG behavior. Drop a worm or a nibble down there on a smaller jig and find out.
