I know this going to sound like a dumb question to those in the know but I have got to ask it here or call Lowrance. Here goes, when installing a LSS-1 structure scan module on an existing HDS-5 system do you retain the existing transducer and add the new one. Installation instructions does not cover this very clear.

Yes! You need BOTH transducers for the HDS 5. The original is for your Sonar, the other one is for your LSS-1! You can install them as close as a foot apart, or opposite sides. Call me Jim and I'll talk you through it!

Thanks Reaper, I think I have everything else figured out. Now I need to make time to get it done, we are leaving for a couple months trip to Colorado and other points West but will be back for the Fall bite. Need to have it installed by then. Took the new boat to Skiatook just to see how it ran and did manage to catch three green perch so that's a good sign.
