There was an ideal from a couple other members that we should share,Location,Water depth ,Type of Bait any thing else that helped 1st,2nd,3rd place winners win. I agree 100%.

Our team finished second place, we where fishing Gaines creek from a suggestion from Brian or "EB".
We used 2" Bobby Garland slabslay'r pumpkin seed /pearl chartreuse, 2" Yum Wooly Beavertail pmk/chart. We fished stumps in 1'-4' of water.
Our team finished 1st on Fort Gibson using the same lures at 4-13' in brush piles up the river .

A special thanks to Brian Young for pointing us in the right direction since we have not fished Eufaula before.

Love this idea guys! This is what this site is about, of course the winning teams will not share all there tricks but for the most part it's about learning how to be better crappie fisherman! EB

Thanks for sharing. Question finding crappie up the rivers in 1-4' feet of water with the temps so hot. New to crappie fishing never thought about fish being caught up the rivers with the water temps as high as they have been.We fish in Arkansas should not be that much different!!!!! Thanks for sharing will give this a try in our local lakes!!!!!

Hello Jackie, to answer your question crappie in most rivers and creeks will always be shallower than in the lake! It's because of the thermocline. If you take a pond that's only 12-15 ft at its deepest point the thermocline will only be 4-8 ft. The oxygen is there! Now one other thing to consider is water clarity. Most creeks and rivers in Oklahoma are stained which makes the fish shallow! Because of light penetration. The last factor to always consider is the forage. I believe if a fisherman knows where his forage is all the time he will be catching fish often! EB

LOL!!!!! Seems since I have been hanging around you alittle more I can't either....lol...naw it's not that we can't win one its we hadn't been lucky enough to get that one bite we need...lol...besides the day of the classic we were kinda at a disadvantage like 30 minutes later getting on the water after everyone else was fishing...and a boat sitting on the spot I had picked to start off on....lol....that's fishing....Ranger
