East out of Eufaula Cove out on the flats was dynamite 2 weeks ago. fish were all along the north side of the flat busting shad. 2 weeks ago they were in 14' of water and my gr'daughters caught em on 3" shassy shads with a 5/16oz lead head with #1 hooks. If you had been anywhere close you could of heard em hollerin. Caught over 100 in alil over 2 hours and I hadn't wet a hook.

Have they started running shad near Oakridge boat ramp yet? The area where the 3 bridges meet? 69, 9, 9-A

That there is bigtime fun for a kid of any age. Have got into them at Horseshoe before and joined in on the fray simply because I couldn't get anything else to bite. Wore myself out for an hour and a half then went back to normal fishing.

Fife is the first cove east and north of the 69 bridge that they are working on. Exit 69 on texanna road and go east across rr tracks. take a right first turn to ramp. It is accesible from shoreline.

I haven't been there in 2 weeks, but they were schooling top water like crazy. Coves are all full of baitfish so they ahould be good and fat by now.

Just got off the water at Fife and didn't see any busting through the shad.....saw baitfish about 6 ft deep but never saw them surface....
