    Default Long-Lining jigs

Big George told me about the technique a year ago and told me how to fish it. I took a couple from Weatherford yesterday and we spider-rigged for most of the day, then the last hour I showed them how to long-line jigs. We were using 1/16th ounce jig heads with bobby garland strollers pulling them 40 ft behind the boat fishing 3-4ft deep in water that was 5-15ft, trolling 1.0mph. We were able able catch a dozen or so with this technique. I think if I would have found a bank with several points on it we would have been in fish the entire time. This is a very good way to catch suspended post-spawn crappie. I was showing them this technique because I think is is great for kids, you can put them in the back of your boat and let them have a blast reeling in all the fish! Any way i never se to many people if any long-lining jigs on Eufaula. Godd fishing1 EB

4 lb line is most usually the norm for this method Glad you used the strollers as I was asked for my input from Garland as to design and right away I told them this would be a very nice pulling bait the other design would have been great also but in my eyes was a design to be one poled the beefed up tail on the stroller gives us fisherman more bang for the buck and you can catch several fish before one pulls the tail off

    Default Whirly bird

Crappie George- I gave you and Brian a couple of whirly bird lures each from Gilmore tackle at the Gettogether and I need some feedback on how they have performed. Please advise.

I used the baits Cricket gave me and they catch fish I caught several crappie and sandies with them however the only drawback is when a big one gets on the line and runs into the other lines the trebels snag more so than single hooks the flash is great on these baits also I might add
