    Default Bixhoma Report

Me and my wife went to Bixhoma for the first time today. The fishing wasnt very good for us but we went at the worst part of the day, from 12-4. We caught 1 Crappie and several perch. In a matter of fact, I wish we would have focused more on catching the perch because they were good eating size.

This lake is good lookin, alot of good grass and nice and clear. I will be going there again someday during better fishing times. It looks like a real bassy lake. But its a great lake for a 2 man boat which is what we had.

CT; That lake has big redears too, I have caught 2 from it that weighed 1 1/4lbs. and a crappie that went 3.25lbs. Third week of May the big gills should be on the beds and you can fill a basket in no time.

Perhaps that is what I caught. I just call all those colorful boogers perch. I know there are a few different species but I never really paid attention to them. Some of them looked like they had a belly full of eggs. I caught the majority of them in all of the grass by the spillway. I just wish I had a doodle socking pole to drop straight down because I kept getting hung on the grass when I would reel in. They sure can fight for their size.
