I was thinking about hitting up Claremore in my two man. I guess they are still spawning there too?

Did anyone try to fish on Thursday night? We drove around the southern half of Lake Oologah and it was beyond whitecaps....I swear you could surf if you didn't mind hitting a stump or two! :D
We found a calm spot on Claremore Lake and caught about 20 crappie on minnows, but only 12 were keepers. They weighed about 1 to 1 1/2 lbs each.
Very sheltered area about 2' deep in 3-6' of water.
I filleted all of them by myself with an electric knife and didn't even lose a finger! I may learn to be a fisherwoman! Fisherperson! .....I may learn to fish! :D

I guess they are still spawning. There were lots of boats trolling that day even with the 35 mph wind, but we never saw anyone catch anything. We caught them off the bank. All we tried was minnows. Don't know if they would have hit on jigs or not.
Good luck.

We went into the main entrance to the park and followed the road around to the back (west side). We were near Lowry Road so that would be the last cove on the west side with the stumps. The end of the cove points toward Hwy 66.
