    Default Grand Lake Report

Got to spend most of the day at Grand today and the crappie were scattered from the bank to 15 feet (in 20 fow under docks) and only managed three keepers out of about 25 fish. It rained off and on all day and the big clap of thunder sent me back to OKC. It is still better than it has been in past years and my brother who lives there cleaned nine thursday in about 2 hours.

Would you say that they are is pre-spawn or in post spawn? I would be interested to see anyones opinions on this question.

I am going there tomorrow and will let you know how I do.

This is my first post. Just found this site today. I look forward to many future posts!

At Grand they are pre spawn and spawning. Most other lakes are getting close to post spawn.

Went today to Grand 4/27. Fished from about 2-8 and me and my mom managed to catch about 40, most of them were dinks. We fished south Grand Lake in Ghost Hollow Out of the 40 only about 7 were keepers. We didnt catch them on the banks. They were in about 8-15 feet of water. We caught mostly buck crappie but there were some small females that eggs in them. I was amazed that I didnt catch any on the banks. The grand crappie spawn has really been funky the past few years, they just dont spawn like they do on other lakes like Oologah and Eufaula.

Tough sledding. Your results were about the same as mine, scattered with occasional keeper. Let us know if you get back out.

Will do. I fish for sand bass alot up there too and can post results of those too. I have several hotspots for sandies on south Grand.

I plan on trying to jig around some cliffs and docks this year to try to find some summer time crappie spots. Will let you know if I find them.

We were at Grand between the 15& 21st of April. We did better than we have in the past. My family & I brought back 43 nice crappie. We were fishin in about 10-12ft water till the last day. We then started fishin in about 5ft of water & caught some nice black crappie. I myself love to use jigs ( I have not seen alot of Ladies that love to jig fish) I wish yall luck!!!

I am considering taking my wife up here on Tuesday. I cant decide between here and Oologah. But if I go here, should I try to hit up the Crappie or the Sandies. This will be in south lake area. I hear the Sandies are tearing it up.
