I was still recovering from the bug yesterday but my Wife kept nagging me to go fishing (boy, I've trained her too well!) So I told her we'd run out to the Nav Channel for a while. She really wanted to go to Gentry Creek, but I didn't feel like driving that far.
We got on the water about 10'ish and I started spider rigging jigs and she fished with minnows. We found the small Crappie hanging near the banks of the old oxbow's. I figured the bigger ones were out deeper, but it just wasn't so.
I threw nearly every color jig I had, it didn't seem to matter to those small ones. They hit nearly anything I threw.
Never did find the larger Crappie. Ended up with 2 keepers out of probably 20 or 25 fish.
Decided to throw out a few jugs and see if I could add to the fillet count for our Church's upcoming fish fry.
Ended up with 9 Cats; a 23lb Flathead, 15.5lb Blue and several in the 5 to 10lb range.
Now my Wife is nagging me to go back today (I was up til midnight cleaning and putting these up!) Geez...some women

Good lookin ol flathead. I think I'd keep him in the freezer for myself and give all the freeloaders the blues.
Good looking mess of cats, Okiedon. Thanks for sharing your picture.
