Tenkiller
Fished Sat. morning, April 10th from 7 to noon. Calm winds at first. The water was stained, which is unusual for Tenkiller. Water temp. ranged from 58-61.The fish were very scattered. The lake level had dropped about 2 feet in the last few days. I ended up bringing home 12 crappie, including five over 14", and one over 15". Let about 6 or 7 go (under 10"). Spider rigging minnows about 10 ft deep in 12-18 ft of water. Best action was near the mouth of the cove. They should be farther back in the coves by now. I tried jigs but they only produced small fish so I stuck with the minnows. Around 10:00, the wind really picked up and the fishing got tough so I came home early.

Thanks for the good report. My neighbor tried Spider Rigging last week and didn't catch any Crappie, but he was not using minnows. It's good to see that the fishing is starting to pick up.

Went back on 4-17 and fished from 8:30 to 1:00. Water was clear and 65-67 deg., E/NE wind, overcast, light rain. I only brought back 9 fish... two of them were good ones. Biggest was 2lbs-2oz - 15 3/4". I should've had more but I wasn't fishing very well yesterday, missed/lost fish, and got hung up a lot. Threw back 7 or 8 small ones. Same basic pattern as last time. It seems like the crappie fishing is finally starting to rebound. I used to have some great crappie trips there. The last few years have been real slow.

Heh.. me too I was just about to ask that same question.
I got a canoe last night so I'll be messin' around in the Pine Cove recreation area since I know that cove pretty well.

Ok, here's a report for those who don't fish Tenkiller that much. Stay home.
Just kidding, ok depending on what you are wanting to catch.
Crappie:The best thing right now is pulling cranks. I have been using a renegade from walmart, fire tiger in color. Now you will need to troll these very slow. They only need to run about 5-6' deep. When I mean slow do mean slow. My rod tip is barely bent and that is with a medium action rod.
Sandbass/whitebass: You need to do one of two things. You can either troll with a Bomber A, white or shad colored. These will need to run about 9-12' deep. Again speed is key not to slow yet not to fast. Or you can find some flats close to any channel and jig spoons off the bottom in about 10-15' of water. Early and late are best.
Bass: You need throwing either a crank bait or any soft plastic. If you can find any brush hit it with a worm and you will do good. Again late and early bite.
No matter what you fish for be safe, for this is a very busy weekend.
