Bob, I agree with you. Talked to Bird rep who explained they have it because everyone else does. His explanation was both bird and L use some kind of highbreed software, hardware to get different freq. L uses one small band and B uses two different bands one low and one high. You are correct that G is true chirp with true chirp Ducer and ping from a really low Hertz all the way thru to a really High Hertz. And this is just my opinion if I was buying a unit today it would be G.
