Thread: Fishers

Wow, I haven't been online in a week and was really concerned while reading this thread. I grew up in Broken Bow and and have family there, and I thought of all the possibilities of something going wrong in those neck of the woods. What makes it worse is the cell phone coverage in little dixie is monopolized by local owners and makes you feel like you're in a 3rd world country. I totally get what happened, most people could care less while their down there, they've escaped and they want to enjoy it and they want to switch the world off for a few days. Sounds like a perfect storm here, a private guy, in a really private setting and living the dream privately. At least we have a great group of Okies here that look out for each other and everything turned out ok.

If'n y'all want to change my handle as Reaper is threatening I would wear that badge with honor for you guys. Just so we're clear, I'll have your back

I am an outsider but caught this thread and followed it out of concern for a fellow member. I'd like to think I had friends who would react in a minute if they thought I was in trouble, and I know I do, both on this site and in other circles. If we don't look out for each other who will.

This thread reminded me of an earlier time when we didn't have cell phones or computers. I used to take off and wander the wilderness areas of the Rockies solo with just a fly rod, recurve and small back pack. When I would leave I would tell my wife that I would be back in a week and, if not, call the insurance company. I still think there is something good about the old days but don't think I could get away with that now.

As EXCITED as we get when there is a THUMP on the end of a string, how excited is to excited when one of us is missing???
