Kaw used to be good saugeye lake. The massive floods in the late 90's sent most of them over the gates. Not under but over. The water level was 2' below the road that goes over the dam. People that lived below the dam were evacuated for 30 miles down stream. Its never been the same since.

Me and my fishing buddies have all caught Walleye below the Kaw dam when the water is running. I have caught several there, and a few in the Verdigris river, including a nice 7 pounder. All were caught on jigs while crappie fishing.

Lake Carl Blackwell is full of Saugeye. Several get caught at the fish house by crappie anglers, but there are several guys who target Saugeye only and get good fish.

I've caught a few below Ft Gibson Dam bottom fishing with minnows.
For many years I have heard that Lake Hudson has a good population.
Lower Illinois River at the mouth where it hits the Arkansas River / Navigation Channel south of Webber Falls is also a good spot for Saugeye!
I would call the ODWC and get some recent shocking statistics info instead of our lies and conjecture :-)
Great weather for going after them right now and water temp is right! Good Luck!
Just another Oklahoma Crappie addict !
