I met Chatt, Frank and Bob in Ponca at the golden arches of indegestion. We launched at Osage. Wind wasn't bad in the a.m. and temp never got much higher than what it was at daylight. We took a boat ride and ended up in an area that had been good to Chatt is the past. It took awhile to produce a fish, but a white broke the ice and some dinks were had with only 1 that went around 10". It was pretty slow so we ventured back whence we came and tried a couple of more spots only to get skunked while we put up with the wind. Chatt ordered a change of tatics (somewhere out of the wind) and later in the afternoon finally found some worth tossing in the live well. I'm not going to tell where, when, or how deep until after the Oologah tourney. (hee haw) I'll just say what I told Chatt and that's that I actually learned something today. I'd love to be the mans tournament partner someday! Between two boats and 4 fishermen, we were able to garner a couple of decent bags of filets for only about 1.5 hours in the fish. If any of you ever consider hiring a guide that is entertaining to boot, drop him a line. By the way....he's a really "nice" guy.
Thanks for inviting me Chatt!
