Help me out gang! I have heard that Mercury motors are hard to work on. I've heard that Evinrude & Johnson are reliable and made by same company. Anyone know about Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, etc.? I do not want a motor that uses a LOT of gas or that is hard to work on.

Still trying to decide whether to get a 20' or 24'. I know the longer the better in rough water on Eufaula. I only want a fishing pontoon. No bench seats in the back. I think I should get a fairly newer model....around 1999 or so.

Any thoughts? School is out! I am ready to go fishing.
