A safe room is better than nothing, but I guess I'm from the old school. I want to be below ground if at all possible in a storm shelter.

We used these folks in 2000 for ours. It isn't pretty but wife feels safer having it and they were quick and efficient with the install. Hausner Storm Shelters - Home

Rigrunner and I heard of storms coming with strong winds so we left Fort Cobb Lake home for our Texas home on Monday am. Tornados were reported by our kids near Hinton but they were cellar safe. Prayers were answered. Pray for the storms to stop. We want to get back to fishing.

Thanks for the comments/suggestions. I would rather be underground myself, but the expense and convienence of an above ground shelter makes it pretty tempting. I may hold out this season to get a better deal in the winter.

Scott S.: Do you mind sharing the cost of your shelter? Of course I realize transport and escalation for time are both variables.
