Confusion exists about the term black panther on various media including internet. It is generally agreed that the name black panther is not a scientific term for a distinct species but is a common name for some big cats with black coat. Only two types of big cats are scientifically recognized as legitimate black panthers: black leopard and black jaguar.

They are big black cats around Binger OK. I personally seen one at my daughter's place 6 miles south of Binger. It crossed the road in front of me while I was leaving her place. It was the size of a mountain lion. But if they don't come in black colors, I'm not sure what it was, I just know it was a large black cat!
