So, I guess I'm not crazy. I went back today, this time with minnows. Went to the same piles, and this time I found out what they were for sure. Crappie. Maybe they were shad Tuesday, but they were crappie today.
KC that is a ton of fish in that picture, I'm glad you caught them to find out what they are, I've said so many times "that looks like crappie" but I never know until I catch them. I truly believe this time of year they are hard to catch not because of the heat but because of the fry everywhere. Last year on Eufaula the water was up 10ft and there were tons of fish under Ash creek bridge we assumed they were shad until we threw the cast net. First cast 70 crappie that were 8-10inches long. It's really amazing how great our fisheries are here in Oklahoma. There's definitely no lack of forage for the fish we love to catch. My wife and I picked a great place to live when we moved here five years ago. Love it!
This afternoon turned out perfect!
I fished from 1pm to 5pm. My top seven weighed 5.98lbs. I enjoyed the cloud cover.
Caught around 100. Kept a 2 man limit. Big 7 weighed 8+ guesstamating
Josh did you get your motor fixed or are you still just getting around with trolling motor?
