I have seen it before and it's pretty obvious and you're right Reaper, my contrast is on auto. I am just surprised that nearly all of the fish we have caught the last two times out have been below the thermocline- didn't know that was possible.

Odie slammed this one this morning. Caught it all on tape. We fished the north end all the way into lightning creek today. The thermocline was at 14' north of the bridge. I did not see one in parts of the lake side of Talala creek today. I'm headed to Skitook in the morning.

You can see the fish on the bottom. Left side of the screen. Then you came see the battle taking place! Wish I was faster with my phone picture.

Today we had 84 by noon with 22 over 10" in the box- most ran 11" or better so some improvement for us on Oo. The hot jig for me was a cinnamon and orange hair jig which was useless without a crappie nibble. Kyle had 3 crappie hanging from 2 rods at one point so I pretty much had to listen to that all morning. Caught all our fish in 18 fow tho we fished up to 30'. Thermocline was at 25'. They bit hard til about 9am at which point we were obliged to use the force to sense their presence- hitchhikers galore. Miss Beazley loves to gnaw the heads off fish and I look forward to her eventual companionship on the boat but this week at Obedience Class she peed 3x and pooped once so my hopes of a valedictorian there are dashed.

Papa and I hit Oologah today. Got a late start around 11:30 and the wind was perfect for a warm summer day. Stopped off to talk to Whisperer on our way out as he was going in. Always good to see Kevin. We tested Allens new spider rig set up and eventually came across a school of Crappie with about every third to forth one being a keeper which is almost unheard of for Oologah this year. Right about the time we found the school, the wind picked up and was sending in some white caps that made it really tough to fish. We opted to find another school which we never did. We didn't have very many in the livewell by the time we called it, but had a good time on the hunt. It's too bad the wind picked up and ran us off, I think we could have caught several.

Yep, seen the Reapster and Papa on the way back to the ramp. Sure was a nice boat Papa has, pretty blue Stratos with a new spider rig settup. Saw Reaper's Ranger a couple of weeks ago too. He really did a nice job on the restoration, it looks great. Made me feel useless with all the things I need to fix on my Ranger. Guess I need to take a Jack of all trades class from Reaper. Fishing has been tough with the water up over 10 ft the last few weeks. Waters finally down to 5 ft above and should be down to normal when the tournament happens on the 15th. The last good day I had was 3 weeks ago, I brought home 30. Winganon is always good when the waters up, lots of current brings the crappie to the funnel. Only brought home 10 yesterday, found em on brush in 15 to 20 ft. Fishing should be good when the tournament rolls around and the lake is back down to normal again. Summer is the easiest time to catch crappie on Oologah, they're predictable. They'll be on brush piles in 10 to 30 ft. Jig color has been a crap shoot lately. Caught em on black and pink, black and chartreuse, electric chicken, pumpkin and chartreuse, blue ice and solid pearl. Somebody else's turn to fess up now. Doug I know you're holding out.

Odie's most likely put those "other" lakes on hold now that we have a new date for the Oologah Tourney. He probably won't even prefish since he knows every spot on the lake. I might be tied up at Papas most of the week taking care of Honey Do's. Papa can't make it to the Oologah tourney so I've recruited an 80 yr old friend to sit in. We might be able to sneak out a few times before the tourney. I'm not sure where the bigger fish are other than the suspended school Papa and I found which is going to remain a secret until after the 15th. If George shows up on Oologah, I might just shaddow him for awhile.

Low weight at weigh in is expected by me, so it could go to anyone. Just get ready for a whole bunch of 8-9" fish. It's highly possible that the team that drags big fish will also win.
