I fished Redbud area this evening and caught around 20 fish in about 25fow on some brush but only had one fish over 10". Seemed like you had to drop your jig straight down on them to entice a bite!
It was fun though! If anyone knows where the biggens ae hiding tell me your secret!!

New guy here. Looking forward to fishing oolagah or any lakes around Owasso. Need to learn a lot and you guys seem to be the ones to learn from.I have a boat.I appreciate anyone that shares their knowledge .Glad I found this site.

We fished the same area as Eddie from noon to six and caught 5 over 10". I think we would have done better if I hadn't thrown out the anchor on our first brush pile. Kyle says "drop it" so I did and it didn't go well- 35' deep and a 20' anchor rope were a bad combination! We twisted and swung all day as I cursed Ranger for not teaching me how to run the dang trolling motor better.......but we never begged em to bite so your tutorial wasn't completely wasted on me Mark.

Got a chance to go yesterday with Noah one of my in-laws. Met Ken (Starfish) and a friend of his at the ramp between 9 and 10. We swapped stories and I checked out some new rods he had and they sure were nice. Caught 28 good fish we could take home and probably another 10 throwbacks. Didn't catch anything huge, had 5 or 6 that went 12 to 13 inches. The bite was pretty good until midday, slowed down after that. Went home at 2:30 since it was Valentines day and we wanted to live to fish another day. Fished brush in 19 to 22 FOW, 3 ft up from bottom. Solid black hair jigs caught all the fish. Bite was across the board, some body slammed it and others just sucked it in with a really soft bite. Went the weekend before and brought home 26, same song and dance. Had 3 doubles that day, caught 2 fish on double jig rig 3 times during the day. Sure thought we had a good one while we were reeling up. Lots of competition that day, I bet we saw 15 boats fishing.

Are there any "better " parts of the lake to fish. When in a boat , what type of rod and line are you using. I drove the east side of the lake today just looking for parks and ramps.
