I will have to give that a try earlier then . I was at the south corner of blue creek early then went to the north point around those rocks about 7:30- 8 but nothing . So where do they go after sunup ?

Did good this morning fishing standing timber. Fish were 2 feet down in 6 feet of water. I used a 1/16 BG jig pearl on the bottom and a minnow 16 inches above that. Early the fish were aggressive and ate the jig best, later they slowed a bit and went for the minnow better. Caught some really nice ones, kept 17.

Went Saturday morning but not as early as I'd hoped. Checked my battery first thing and it was weak again, wouldn't turn over the motor. I've got one cell that keeps losing fluid, guess I'll go buy a new battery this evening. Put some distilled water in it and it turned over, but I took my jumper cables just in case. Sure enough it wouldn't turn over when I got there, but the jumper cables got me fishin even if it was a little late. One thing good about being late, I met Meatdragger at Tacora mart. Hopefully we'll get together soon and catch some crappie together. Got out to the brush pile about 7:00 and fished till about 11:00. I did pretty good I brought home 20 keepers. Lost quite a few fish in the brush today. Seemed like every time I got a heavy fish it would wrap me up in the brush. Some days are like that, you just gotta ease up on the cuss words and be thankful for the ones you did catch. Anyway I had a good time, caught some fish, and got off the water before it was too hot. Took a picture of the fish, I know everybody likes seeing the fish.

what does the water look like from Spencer to the damn muddy or kinda clear?

The water is clearing up George. Heck we haven't had any significant rain in so long it ought to be gin clear, but we all know Oologah never gets really clear.

Went out this morning with a new battery this time. Wouldn't you know it my motor must have thought I pushed the choke a little too much so I had a little trouble getting it started. I must have been a little too anxious to see how it would act with a new battery. I got it started after a couple of minutes and off I went. Didn't do as good today, not sure if I didn't position my boat on the brush pile right or just had a little more trouble than usual finding what depth they were at. As luck would have it, when I finally found 12ft was the right depth the wind went absolutely nuts. It blew my boat off its spot and almost beached the boat on the shore. Seemed like when the wind went nuts so did the fish. I ended up leaving and the fish were biting. I was on a bank that the wind was blowing into and it was too much to handle. I ended up fishing from 6:00 to 10:00 and brought home 12 keepers. If my anchors could've kept me in the right spot I bet I would've done pretty good. Oh well with it supposed to be 106 today I think we can live with this wind we're getting.

i was out today too, trying to catch walleye. i launched at redbud because the dock at hawthorne is under construction. i ended up catching 1 walleye and 1 crappie trolling . was in a grey lund boat.

I was on vacation last week and got the chance to fish three straight days on Oologah. The crappie are biting really well in brush piles no deeper than 17 feet. I rig my line using 4lb test with the hook one foot above a 1/4 oz bank sinker. It's the best rig to get out of heavy brush. I usually drop the line till it slacks and reel up a foot. Usually get a thump on the way up. Nearly limited out on every trip. The fish are aggressive from 5:30 - 9:00 AM. Evenings from 5 till dark. Tried to night fish with one of those BPS green submergible lights, all it attracted was mayflies and micro organisms. LOL. Yes the summer fishing is good right now.

Good job . I have to get out as soon as i can and use some minnows on brush.
