The bigger fish were on the banks prior to the big rain. After that, a few decent fish could and can be had 16" deep within 2' of the bank in the right areas. Dunno what happened to the bigger fish in bulk as the dinks have been the major biters since the rains. It seems to be hit and miss. I figured out that most all brush down to 14' are holding fish but by the same token, I'm catching 2-5 keepers off each and the rest are dinks. I had been staying too long in one area. My next trip out will be raids on several piles known to me and I might go on an exploratory mission too boot. I've got plenty of Crappie in zero degree mode and am more or less going into a catch and release status very soon. I released about 10 Saturday that were in the 10" range and kept a couple of them.

Gave what I had to Kelly Davis, a.k.a. "Slip Shot". He was camping at Hawthorne with his family and friends. Kelly is a certified boat mechanic and he was going to look into a problem I was having with my Merc while on his vacation. What a guy! Anyway, it's amazing what 3 new spark plugs will do and the Merc straightened right up with no need to interupt his play time. I gave him a call Saturday morning to let him know the plugs took care of the issue and invited him to trailer his boat to where I was. Hopefully I was able to put him on a few more fish than he had caught the day before.

Thanks Kelly! Anyway guys and gals, ANY issues you might have with your motor in the Tulsa and surrounding area, I encourage you to give Kelly a call. PM me for his number.

Kevin, next time you're out that way, head around the point and try out that brushpile I told you about. It's pretty good right now with the water a little up.
