Went out yesterday trying to find a place out of the wind and we ended up in Talala creek. Saw several boats catching fish, especially in the morning but nobody was just tearin' them up. Everyone we saw was using minnows. We stopped at the store on the way in but they were out of minnows so we decided to just go with jigs only. We ended up getting on a pattern with roadrunner jigs. We threw jigs up on the bank and drug them close to the bottom searching for brush. The fish we caught were holding on brush anywhere from 11ft - 2ft, with a couple fish on the bank. Several of the males had turned black. The best bite was around 2pm - 4pm, they just shut off after that. The water temp was around 71 degrees when we left. Ended up with about 20 keepers all over 10 inches.
This is the jig we caught most of the fish on. I started rigging weedles with a BG slab slayer to be able to crawl it over the limbs.
