Thanks for breaking the reporting drought as I am heading back out on Wednesday and needed the inspiration. Where did you find small minnows? When the bite is slow I think smaller helps.
Fished all day and caught 33 with 11 keepers up to 12.5". In the first hour I had my buddy down 14 to one. I felt so sorry for him that I told him he could count a little drum he caught. By the end of the day he beat me 17 to 16- not counting the croaker. No evening bite for us today like there has been. Water temp was 65-68. We found fish in 15-25 fow. Minnows. With the start I had I thought today was the day but then 2 crappie in the next 7 hours humbled me. Morning fish almost all hitchhikers (mouthers). The bite seemed to get more violent as the day dragged on.
Tough day on the lake. Got a late start waiting for the wind to make up it's mind. Could not get the boat to run so off to the shop where they fixed the problem and we got back on the water at 11 am. Before we dropped a line the low oil alarm went off and we realized we had no anchors in the boat. About noon we started fishing around Will Rogers Point and caught one dink in the next 4 hours. Decided to hit one more pile and caught 18 off that one. 3 keepers up to 13" which we set free to make our day another time. Water was mid 60's and the wind turned out pretty friendly after all as we hugged the west banks all day. I think I am getting pretty good at this as I was able to use my intuition to sense several hitchhikers in the 3-4" range. Anybody can feel the slabs thump but you gotta be really tuned in to capture the short girls. I am way curious to learn if anyone else is finding em right now.
I have grown uncomfortable that this thread has come to look like my personal blog so I'm gonna lay low for a while. I hope that all you c.c guys who actually know the lake and how to fish it will pick up the slack. For me the next best thing to catching crappie is reading about you all's efforts.
Just my two cents, keep posting. I came to about the same conclusion on the tenkiller thread, about myself. This time of year everybody is chasing deer, even me. However, I still like fishing vicariously through your posts !!!!

Booooooo!!!!! Don't let slowness of the site slow you down. If everybody did that then the site would be dead. People are probably busy. If I lived up that a way and had a boat I would be trying to tear them up. Personally though my slowness is because I don't have a boat therefore I am forced to fish by bank/dock, working six days a week has forced me to be a weekend fisherman, then everytime I want to go fishing on my day off on Sunday same crazy cold front/showers have blown in.
I doubt if I go out for awhile too. With the lake level down and the Vada Point ramp dead out of the water, I'll do everything I've been putting off around the house. I'm also not about to fight the winds we've had lately. The waters will rise again and everything will be just fine.
Reaper, Where Fish come to Fry
Keep posting Crappie Ciller, I'm working 6 days a week and doing a remodel at home. I only went fishing 2 times all summer but love to read about those who do go.
Hey, tell me a story!

Reaper. Does this mean the hole in the wall has had an opportunity to re-stock?![]()
